Evaluation of Acute Phase Reactants in Patients with Ankylosing Spondylitis

Objective: To determine the high levels of acute phase reactants (APR) ankylosing spondylitis (AS) patients at diagnosis and follow-up, to investigate relationship between patients’ APR disease activity clinical characteristics.
 Material Methods : 948 who were diagnosed with AS according modified 1984 New York criteria followed-up university rheumatology clinic included in this study. The erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) C-reactive protein (CRP) across all visits retrospectively reviewed through registry hospital’s database.
 Results: At first visit, CRP ESR observed 626 (68.5%) 578 (64.6%) respectively. During follow-up 84.6% had 69.5% ESR, however 10% APRs did not increase all. There was good correlation (r=0.666, p=0.000). A better visit BASDAI (r=0.81, p=0.23) or ASDAS (r=0.468, p=0.000) compared (r=0.111, p=0.02) (r=0.334, Compared BASDAI, either (p=0.00) (very activity-p=0.000, inactive disease-p=0.001) performance evaluating patient very severe disease.
 Conclusions: Our results showed, is rare patients. should be considered most significant laboratory diagnostics evaluation and/or response treatment.
